Registration Opens for Slag Cement School

Registration is now open for the Slag Cement Association’s (SCA) fifth annual Slag Cement School. This year’s event will be held in Wilmington, Del., April 21-22.

“We are excited to bring Slag Cement School to the Mid-Atlantic region,” said Nick Brimley, membership and marketing director, SCA. “With the shift toward the use of blended cements and the push for more sustainable construction, this event is a great opportunity for the industry to learn about the latest slag cement applications.”

The school features educational presentations on slag cement use and benefits, as well as a tour of a Heidelberg Materials’ slag cement plant.

Slag Cement School sessions and presenter(s):

  • Slag Cement Basics, Production, and Cementitious Properties, Jason Murtha, Heidelberg Materials.
  • The Evolution of Blended Cements: Leveraging Slag Cement under the New ASTM C595 Framework, Clayton McCabe, Quikrete and Shawn Kalyn, St Marys Cement.
